About the project
The documentary Grygar captures the life and work of one of the most prominent Czech astronomers and science communicators, Jiří Grygar, from his childhood through his professional career to his present-day activities. The film captures not only his scientific achievements and contribution to our understanding of the universe, but also his personal story, which includes family experiences, sceptical thinking and a passion for communicating science to the public.
My role
I was responsible for the complete edit of the documentary. Together with director Martin Petrášek and screenwriter Leoš Kysa, we worked through hundreds of hours of material. My role was to give the film a flowing rhythm and sensitively connect archival material with authentic moments from Grygar's contemporary life.
